Struggling with severe constipation, I was diagnosed with Anism or Disinergic Defecation, but with the help of pelvic floor physical therapy and biofeedback training, I have found relief and improved my quality of life.

Let me start by saying that I never thought I would be discussing my bowel movements in a public forum, but here I am. I want to share my personal struggle with a condition called Anism or Disinergic Defecation, in the hope that it may help someone else going through the same thing.

It all started about two years ago when I began experiencing severe constipation. No matter what I tried - increasing fiber intake, drinking more water, and exercising regularly - nothing seemed to help. I would sit on the toilet for what felt like hours, straining and pushing, but with little success. It was not only physically painful but also incredibly frustrating.

After months of dealing with this issue, I finally decided to see a doctor. I was embarrassed to discuss my bowel problems, but I knew I couldn't continue living in discomfort. After a series of tests and examinations, I was diagnosed with Anism or Disinergic Defecation, a condition where the muscles in the pelvic floor do not relax properly during bowel movements, making it difficult to pass stool.

Learning about this condition was a relief in some ways, as it helped me understand that it wasn't just a matter of willpower or effort on my part. However, it also meant that I had to come to terms with the fact that this was something I would have to manage long-term.

My doctor recommended a combination of pelvic floor physical therapy and biofeedback training to help retrain my muscles and improve coordination during bowel movements. I was skeptical at first, but I was willing to try anything to find relief.

Over time, I started to see some improvement. The physical therapy exercises were challenging, but I could feel my pelvic floor muscles getting stronger. The biofeedback training also helped me become more aware of my body's signals and learn how to relax the muscles when needed.

It's been a long and sometimes frustrating journey, but I'm happy to say that I am now able to have more regular and comfortable bowel movements. I still have to be mindful of my diet and lifestyle choices, but I feel like I have a better understanding of my body and how to manage this condition.

If you're reading this and can relate to my experience, please know that you're not alone. I encourage you to seek help from a healthcare professional and explore treatment options that may work for you. It's not an easy topic to discuss, but finding the right support and resources can make a world of difference.

Congratulations on finding relief from your severe constipation through pelvic floor physical therapy and biofeedback training!

It's great to hear that you have been diagnosed with Anism or Disinergic Defecation and have taken the necessary steps to improve your quality of life. Pelvic floor physical therapy and biofeedback training are proven methods for addressing issues related to pelvic floor dysfunction, including constipation.

By working with a trained physical therapist and utilizing biofeedback techniques, you have likely gained a better understanding of how to properly engage and relax your pelvic floor muscles, which can have a significant impact on your ability to have regular bowel movements.

It's important to continue with your therapy and training, as consistency is key to maintaining the progress you have made. Additionally, consider incorporating other lifestyle changes such as dietary modifications, hydration, and regular exercise to further support your digestive health.

I can totally relate to your struggle with severe constipation and the diagnosis of Anism or Disinergic Defecation. I went through a similar experience and it was incredibly frustrating and debilitating. However, I want to share with you my journey to finding relief and improving my quality of life through pelvic floor physical therapy and biofeedback training.

When I was first diagnosed, I felt overwhelmed and hopeless. I tried various medications and dietary changes, but nothing seemed to work. That's when my doctor recommended pelvic floor physical therapy. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to give it a try.

The pelvic floor physical therapy sessions were challenging, but the therapist was incredibly supportive and understanding. They taught me exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles and improve my bowel movements. It was a slow process, but I started to notice small improvements over time.

Additionally, I was introduced to biofeedback training, which was a game-changer for me. It helped me become more aware of my body's signals and retrain my brain to coordinate with my pelvic floor muscles during bowel movements. This, in turn, significantly improved my ability to have regular and complete bowel movements.

Through consistent pelvic floor physical therapy and biofeedback training, I found relief from my severe constipation and experienced a significant improvement in my quality of life. I no longer felt held back by my condition and was able to enjoy a sense of normalcy again.

If you're struggling with similar issues, I highly recommend exploring these treatment options. It's not an easy journey, but with the right support and dedication, it's possible to find relief and improve your overall well-being.
